Jackson - Day 1

A successful day for the Williams Ski Team!! Cold, windy, but blue skies and sunshine. The Criterium format for both men and women: mass start, on a 1.5 km track, with a bell and notice at 3 laps to go. Each race lasted about 30 minutes, with a feature 2 minute uphill followed by a screaming downhill and sharp turn. Williams dominated the top of the pack in both men's and women's races, as Alice won the women's race in a tight finish with USBA's Annelies Cook, while Keith missed the win by several inches in a photo finish with UVM's Alex Howe. Kirsten and Sarah were our second and third finishers, in 6th and 8th place, and skiied at the front of the pack the whole race. On the men's side, Keith was joined in the lead pack by Atay and Caleb, who both led the race for a lap or two and ended in 3rd and 9th, respectively. A very solid day for the Cows!
In the down time, we are loving the Jackson hospitality of the Kantack and Lucy families; good food, piano playing, games and quality nap time!
