Still Not Quite Road Season

Some of you may know that I am an avid cyclist during the short off-season I get every year.  Last week when the weather was nicer I decided to go out on an adventure and find some new gravel roads in the area.  Before riding I showed Jason my route and he was a little skeptical, I told him it was going to be fine!  Turns out I probably should have waited another week or two...or took my mtn bike!
One of the long hike-a-bike sections!

Riding was still good at this point, even with the creek crossings!

Little muddy for my road bike...

Can Prospect Make it to May?

Still good spring skiing up to Prospect as of April 24th! Only a couple small bare spots to be found on the trails, and we even made it up to the top of the mountain no problem.

However, the men's team can report that the ice on Beaver Pond was not faring as well as the snow on the trails.
Pictured: Henry, Braden, and Emil. No athletes were seriously harmed in the making of this picture.

Still Snow Up on the Taconic

Last weekend, the girls decided to head to to the Taconic Crest.  Snow still to be found!

Headed up to Prospect this afternoon.  Half a foot of new snow last night so should be pretty sweet.  Endless winter continues in Woodford, VT.

Another Prospect MIRACLE

Prospect has had absolutely unbelievable ski conditions since early March. Truly amazing. Jayvin and I made it up for a skate ski this past Saturday and a classic ski today. Pics below from the past few days of glorious skiing!

The parking lot has been pretty full at Prospect the past two days. I think the word is out that the skiing is incredible. Get out and enjoy it while you can!

Celeb Spottings in Norway!

As we reminisce in the amazingness that was Norway and other spring break escapades, I'd like to mention that we did have two very important celebrity sightings. The first occurred during/after the local race in Sjusjøen when we saw Norwegian skier Martin Sundby in his element! Afterwards, a few of us got a chance to chat with him and he was super friendly. Sonya claims we crashed her solo picture with him, but alas, it's pretty cute:
Sundby (in red) taking a minute to pose with the team after tying for the win in the local race. Other competitors included our very own Braden Becker, Dylan Syben, and Carmen Bango, as well as the great Jason Lemieux and his old teammate and friend Noel Johnson!

ALSO, as we were wandering through the extensive duty free in the Oslo airport on the way to our flights, Noel and I ran into the one and only Norwegian heartthrob and Olympic gold medalist Johannes Klæbo!! He was on the phone and not quite as excited to see me as I was to see him, but it was worth it:
Shout out to Noel for spotting Klæbo and snapping this picture!
We're all back on campus now and the second half of the second semester is in full swing!

Keep rockin' the cow!

Tourists Being Tourists

Traveling throughout Europe this Spring Break, the men's team had numerous opportunities to invest in one of the many selfie sticks being sold at the major tourist sites. However, we couldn't let our selfie game be outdone by the hoards of tourists we encountered on account of our tight budget, so I took it upon myself to retrofit my arms as a human selfie stick. The goal was to take one selfie worthy of a National Geographic cover in each country. The results are below.

On the trails in Sjusjøen, Norway. About 40 kilometers in, about to make the final push to 50. Glad I was able to get Braden and Dylan in on the action before they headed back to the States for the second week of break.

Lots of scantily clad statues to pose with in Brussels! Jack Schrupp practicing for his post-grad career as a Crest model.

Hagar Qim Temple in Malta. Older than Stonehenge and the Great Pyramid of Giza. Henry must have been looking for ancient buried treasure in this one, but Tessa Schrupp (younger sister of Jack) made a guest appearance!

Gaudí's Sagrada Família, Barcelona. The team looking haggard after our flight arrived in Barcelona at 3:00 am! Franklin must have found another espresso just before this one though.

To wrap up, a group shot not in selfie form. Thanks to the security guard at Bunkers del Carmel who we befriended for this one.

Looking forward to getting the whole team back together this week for some spring skiing up at Prospect and long runs around the Purple Valley in the weeks to come.

We Back

After a whirlwind tour of Europe, I speak for the whole men's team when I say we are very ready for anything Williams College might throw at us over these next six weeks. More photos from the adventures forthcoming.
