Quebec Camp Day 6: Time Trial and Trail 24

Sadly, our last day at Mont Ste Anne. But we made the best of it.

The tracks were a little soft this morning for the classic time trial, but a little multigrade purple did the trick. The girls raced one lap, about 6 kilometers, while the boys raced two laps.

After all the weeks training, most of the team felt a bit flat, but the trial provided a good reminder of how to ski fast and practice race strategy.

This afternoon we went back out for a very easy ski, many of the skiers taking Trail 24 which is a team favorite because of its wicked downhills.
After a big dinner of chili, corn muffins, fruit salad, and caramel popcorn, the team was looking a bit "glazed" (as Coach Fisher puts it) and tired (Phil could hardly keep his head up during dinner). Quite understandable after putting in a specific strength workout, two interval sessions, and a time trial in 18-20 hours over 6 days.
We go home tired, but very content. Can't wait to return already. . .
