UVM Carnival Recap

Hey all,

This past weekend was the UVM carnival at Stowe which consisted of the NCAA race distances on the NCAA race courses giving us a great opportunity to check out the courses before we(hopefully) return in early March.  It was another weekend of cold temps but we saw some breakthrough performances as the team is getting stronger each weekend!

Day 1 was the 5k/10k skate races where the women ended up 4th overall led by Sonya in 18th, Maggie York 20th, and Ingrid Thyr 22nd.  The men ended up 5th overall led by a strong performance from  Isaac Freitas-Eagan in 13th, Nick Gardner 27th, and Evan Carr 29th.  It was a solid day for the Ephs but at the team meeting that night it was clear they wanted more.

Day 2 was the 15k/20k classic races where the women ended up 4th overall led by the ever consistent Sonya in 13th, Ingrid Thyr in 16th, and Maggie York in 23rd giving the women a better score than Day 1 and getting closer to Middlebury!  In the men's race it was a tough fought battle with Middlebury for 2nd and 3rd overall with Middlebury winning the sprint finishes to just edge out the Ephs.  The men were led by Nick Gardner in 12th, Evan Carr 15th, and Isaac Freitas-Eagan in 17th.

Great efforts were given by all this weekend and we are looking forward to the Dartmouth Carnival which includes a relay!  As always results can be found here  http://barttiming.com/eisa/Results19/uvm19.htm
