This past weekend was the Dartmouth carnival which included a 10/15k skate on Friday in tropical weather and a 3 by 5k classic relay on Saturday.
Friday the women went first and had a really solid day with Ingrid leading the way in 17th, Maggie in 18th, and Sonya in 25th. Putting the women in 4th place overall ahead of Middlebury for the first time this year! For the men's race Braden Becker lead the way in 4th, Jack Consenstein in 10th(career best), and Nick Gardner in 11th. Putting the men in 2nd place overall with only D1 powerhouse UVM ahead of them.
On Saturday, all the slush froze overnight making for some icy fast conditions and our first klister race of the year. The women raced first and were led by the relay that consisted of Ingrid, Maggie, and Sonya finishing in 6th place. In the men's race our top 2 relay teams went back and forth the whole race and by the end it was the relay team of Nick, Braden, and Isaac that led the way just over the relay of Dylan Syben, Jack, and Evan Carr.
Next weekend we head to Middlebury for the first closed carnivals of the year.
