Ski Tour up Mt Greylock

Today was the first day of break - classes resume again next Wednesday - and we decided to take advantage of the day by taking a tour up the Mt Greylock road to Stony Ledge overlook.  The college groomers set a track on either side of the road and away we went, extra dry clothes and lunch in tow. It was a gorgeous day, partly sunny, warm, and great skiing.  It took about 1.5 hrs to get to the overlook, where we changed, had lunch, said hello to some snowmachiners that were hanging out at the picnic area (they were nice enough to take our team photo and get us to smile for it by cracking jokes).  Then an hour more of skiing back to the vans, with some steep and fun downhill turns near the finish.

Then the bonus treat:  When we got back to Williamstown Barb Kourajian invited us over for her special Norwegian waffles and jam. Wow.  Tired bodies and happy stomachs. It was hard not to fall asleep over our plates when we were done!
