NCAA's in Stowe, VT!!!!! Day 1: Course Preview

We drove to Stowe this morning and arrived at noon to blue bird skies, fresh snow, and a shiny-groomed stadium at Trapps Family Lodge. It was almost 30 degrees when we previewed the 5k race course, but the snow was still pretty cold and fast.
Then it was back to the hotel to wax skis and get gussied up for the banquet, where had the typical pasta meal, received a warm welcome from a son of the Von Trapp Family, heard an inspirational speech from Beth Reid, and were introduced to the athletes in each region.
We attended dinner alongside our alpine team, so there were 10 in total:
Nordic athletes: Dimitri Luthi, Keith Kantack, Sarah Tory
Coaches: Bud Fisher, Aubrey Smith
Alpine athletes: laurel Carter, Annie Lighter, Geordie Lonza
Coaches: Ed Grees, Kelsey Levine

Tomorrow's schedule**:
10am men's 10k skate
12pm: women's 5k skate

It is supposed to be a pretty nice day tomorrow, but no matter what, we are ready to ROCK!!

***though alpine was supposed to race Thursday, they have moved their GS race to tomorrow to avoid a winter storm warning. So there will be no nordic or alpine races on Thursday.
