UNH Carnival

The team had an awesome weekend at the UNH Carnival in Jackson, NH with some historic performances and personal bests that left us motivated and hungry for more!

After the races, the women's team stayed at my house on Saturday night for an awesome OD on Sunday morning. It turned out that a lot of the EISA+Utah+Eli+Gardner had the same idea, as we saw a bunch of other teams out skiing yesterday. It was a great weekend of skiing at home (for me), skiing new courses (for a lot of others), and skiing on an appreciable amount of snow (for everyone).

Below are some pictures recapping the weekend, along with the results of a meme/caption contest courtesy of the women's team.

These are the turkeys that visit my house everyday. Apparently Tsaina needs to work on her animal identification skills because she thought they were emus.
We love waiting to clean skis!

Corduroy on our ski yesterday... it's been a long time since we've skied in tracks that nice!

We had a couple of equipment malfunctions this weekend. The first happened when Sonya broke a knitting needle on the way up in the van, but luckily Jordan knows the locations of all fabric/knitting shops along the I-91 corridor in Vermont, so if you ever have a fabric emergency while driving, give him a call.

Another equipment malfunction occurred when Ingrid broke a pole on an icy downhill during our OD. Luckily we happened to run into the Hoenigs at the bottom of the downhill, where Peter saved the day with his Swiss Army knife. In the above photo Peter is whittling Ingrid a new section of pole so we could ski back to the touring center. Phew!
And now, the meme/caption contest! All photos are courtesy of Steve Fuller (flyingpointroad.com), all captions courtesy of Williams Women's Nordic.

Now the team is focusing on resting up for next weekend at Trapp's and preparing for the impending chaos that comes with the beginning of the spring semester. I am taking a few days at home with my emus, while some others have gone to their respective homes or back to campus for the beginning of the week. Can't wait to rip it up again next weekend!
