Bowling

The team celebrated our last night before the semester starts with some 80s themed bowling.  We showed some spectacular skill and are seriously considering changing sports.

CAR TROUBLES!!!
Jenna had to leave her car a bit short of the scheduled exchange point. We hear it's running now!!

It was a very fun weekend with lots of accomplishments for the team to be proud of. We're gearing up for some hard and short intervals on Wednesday and we're off to Stowe, VT for the UVM carnival on Friday (races are Saturday and Sunday). Will and Kristen will be back from Norway, so we'll have the entire team in tow ready to do some ROCKING OF THE COW!

Colby 5/10K Classic Results.....

.....aren't quite up yet on the EISA site, but our top 3 scorers for men and women were all fighting for the top 20 today with really tight times across the board. Nothing is official yet, but it looks like Olivia 15th, Christina, 17th and Hannah 24th for the women and Vanya 19th, Ian 20th and Isaac 22nd for the men.  It was a chilly day, but sunny with great tracks and skiing conditions (if we ignore a few rocks here and there). The team skied very well and showed really solid depth today. I'll post an update later this evening as the official results become available.

BRRRRRR......IT'S COLD!

It's been a frigid week here in Williamstown with temps rarely exiting the single digits, but that didn't stop the team from getting in a few good workouts including a great L4 4 x 3 min Classic Interval session on Wednesday up the back side of Chickadee. We head out first thing in the morning for Carnival # 2 of the season in Waterville, ME at the new Colby venue, "Quarry Road". We're looking forward to checking out the course and are planning to do a prevue late tomorrow afternoon when we arrive. It's going to be a bit of a drive, but the Abramson's are putting together a lunch for us about 4.5 hours into the trip to break it up a bit. Thank you Abramson family!!! Saturday's race is a 5/10K classic individual start and Sunday will be the 15/20K freestyle mass start races. Stay tuned for results!

Isaac and Christina lead EPHS at SLU CARNIVAL

This past weekend kicked off the start of the 2013 EISA CARNIVAL CIRCUIT!  Isaac led the men's team both days as did Christina for the women. Both scored decent NCAA qualifying points and are off to a strong start for the season. It was a great weekend of racing with a tough 15K/20K individual start race on Friday in frigid temps and a 3.2K prologue event on Saturday. Everyone finished both races, which was an accomplishment in itself, especially on Friday with temps barely above 0 degrees. Lake Placid was bustling with all sorts of winter events going on and was inspiring as always with the presence of the Olympic Venues from 1980. The team even had a chance on Friday night to go watch some the aerials competition at the jumping complex. The weekend's races left everyone hungry for more next weekend in Waterville, ME at the Colby Carnival!

Here is a link to the EISA results page:

Mountain Top Eastern Cup - Day 2

Day 2 of the weekend was the 5/10K Classic individual start. It was a tough 2 lap course with dirty and slow snow for the women and a slightly longer loop x 3 for the men. The women's field had 164 finishers. Below are the team results. Great job ladies!!

Olivia - 10th
Christina - 19th
Hannah - 30th
Jenna - 38th
Elena - 47th
Eliza - 53rd
Laura - 54th
Sarah - 65th

While the women were racing we continued testing skis for the men's race and then had the chance to get out on the course and do some cheering!! The conditions continued to slow down during the men's race and the crew fought hard on the tough 3 lap course with 115 finishers. Below are the results. Great job guys!

Ian - 17th
Isaac - 21st
Kalle - 38th
Casey - 59th
Ben - 73rd
Josh - Had a great first lap and then had to call it a day with some sharp back pain. He's working with the trainers and should be back at it next weekend.

After a tough day of racing and waxing with klister there is nothing like a STOCKED lunch table put together by the amazing group of Williams parents that we have. It was incredible - THANK YOU PARENTS, you made everyone's day!
