This last weekend marked our second weekend of Eastern Carnival races for NCAA qualifications. The first was in Rumford, ME and this past weekend was spent in Lake Placid, NY.
Rumford was warm, raining and hailing and sleeting and snowing, all at the same time. Things were a bit hectic, as the waxing was difficult and the conditions changing constantly, but the team toughed it out and the ten new freshmen got their first taste of college racing!
Lake Placid was much smoother, and the team started feeling the groove of racing, placing better as a team and marking some fantastic individual results as well.

Sophomore Alice Nelson had 4 top-ten finishes in all four races.
Freshman Keith Kantack, a solid team scorer for both weekends.
Coach FIsher gives a split time to Freshman Kirsten Johnson, who led the women's pack in this 5km skate, finishing 9th.
Robbie Cuthbert, Mark Johnson (second Williams' scorer in skate race behind Alex Taylor, both in top 25), and Crosby Fish cheer on the women before their own race.
