Happy New Year!
We're gearing up for a fast and fun 2016.
The team was greeted with clear skies, sun and temperatures in the mid-teens this morning- nearly perfect conditions for our annual skate time trial. Fueled by four days of fantastic skiing, daily naps, delicious team meals, and pump up speeches from the coaches, it seemed like everyone was ready to put their training to a test. If anything, the 5k/10k interval start race on Trail 21 terrain be an opportunity to remember how challenging racing can be... a good reminder given that we're two weeks out from the carnival season.

With all of MSA's snowfall, we often don't see so much sun. |

The women's team is all smiles after winning the most important race of the day. The van race is now tied 4-4. |

Elowyn is all smiles after her speedy exit secured the win. Clock time: 8:28 AM. |

The view from the front seat- can't beat this kind of weather! |

A makeshift start line. |

Nick striding into the finish. |

Coach Jay keeping warm and taking splits. The walkie talkies even made it out today. |

Layering up for a cool down in the sun.
It's hard to believe that the week is almost over, with only three more skis left at camp. I know I'm not the only one who wishes we could stick around awhile longer!
Here's a quote I've been thinking about this week: My sisters/brothers in sport help me transcend my own ability, and more importantly they make the process fun. This camp is a wonderful training opportunity, but even more it often sets the team dynamic for the rest of the season.
