Spring arrived to the Berkshires a couple weeks early, and despite the last two days of cold weather that brought several inches of snow to the hills, for the most part we've seen warm temperatures, lots of sun, and LOTS of flowers!
Four on the team are involved in varsity sports this spring: Alice Nelson is playing lacrosse, Sarah Tory and Blair Robinson are running track, and Christina Knapp is rowing crew.
A handful of the guys have been playing IM soccer on a combined team with some of the Alpine skiers. Ian Nesbitt has competed well in some open cycling races, and there have also been some fierce battles on the squash court.
The coaches have met with all team members individually which culminated in a whole team meeting last night to go over summer training and next year's goals. Everyone was given a purple painted reminder of what it takes to really get the right training done over the summer.
Skiers are made in the summer. And that starts two days from now!
David Dethier, father of Evan Dethier, has given me a large number of pictures he has taken over the season. I put many of them up in our Picasa web album and a few of my favorites are posted below.
